Welcome to the Sketty Park Communities First web site. Sketty Park is a community rich in diversity; a welcoming community of residents, shops and businesses. All this adds to the community’s wealth of experience, wisdom and character. There are over 25 groups here covering many interests and activities, including bowling, belly dancing, choirs, crafts and so much more.
Statistics put Sketty Park in the 10% most disadvantaged areas within Wales. Communities First has been established to provide local people an opportunity to play an active role in shaping the future of their community. Local people are vital in helping increase opportunities and finding local solutions to local problems. We want to know your concerns and opinions. It is your input and involvement that will bring improvement and positive change to your community.
As the progress of Communities First continues to develop in Sketty Park, we will work towards establishing a local partnership of people who have an interest and a part to play in improving Sketty Park. In the future, this newsletter will include details of our progress, its partners, local activities and projects. We will let you know the sort of work we are involved in and how things are developing locally. In July and August we will be holding local community meetings to let you know what we have been doing and to give you the opportunity to tell us what you think. Our first meeting is scheduled for Monday, July 27th, 7pm at the Sketty Park Community Centre.
